One of our core values and purpose is to help general community learn how to take care of their mental, physical and emotional/spiritual health so that we can build a vibrant, self-sustaining social fabric.
It is well known fact in research that most of the visits to physician are stress or life-style-related. Therefore, we can lessen the burden on medical system by teaching people how to channel their physical and mental resources and capacities to become healthy and happy.
We intend to do so by entering into partnership with like-minded agencies who are interested in community and its health. Currently, we have three things in place for community development:
1. The Health-Q
This publication is offered free to the community and can be accessed at our website. We encourage the readers to share and recommend this publication to their friends and families.
Since April 2006 and in collaboration with Hamilton Public Library we are offering free monthly public lunch-time lecture series ‘Food for Thought’ to connect people to the idea of self-management and self-empowerment.
Please check here for the next session or call at 905.524.3463. All sessions are FREE and start at 12.05pm and ends at 12.50 pm.Where: Hamilton Room, Hamilton Public Library. Just bring lunch for your belly and we will provide ‘Food for thought’.
3. Free Support Groups
In order for people to continue practicing and drawing strength from fellow participants, we also have free support groups which meet at regular intervals to touch base, share their personal experiences and future directions. Facilitator is usually present at these meetings to direct or suggest future course of direction. If you have underwent our 5 or 10 Week Program, you are eligible for joining this free service. Please call 905.524.3463 to get registered in the announcement service.
If you share our vision and would like to join our hands, please write or call us. We would be happy to brainstorm about the modalities.
